The New chapter: A Rescue Story Collection


Their story didn’t begin with you—but this is where everything starts to change.  The early days after bringing a rescue dog home are quiet, meaningful, and often overlooked. Trust builds slowly. Personalities begin to emerge. What once felt uncertain starts to feel like belonging. This collection is designed to preserve that transformation—capturing the shift from “just arrived” to fully home, so you can remember not just where they ended up, but how far they’ve come.


The Experience

Two Signature Sessions designed to capture your dog's transformation:

  • Welcome Home: Finding My Place
  • The beginning—where everything is new, tender, and still unfolding. This session focuses on connection, comfort, and those early in-between moments.
  • Best within 4–8 weeks of adoption, but timing may be adjusted based on your dog’s comfort and transition.
  • Fully Home: Watch Me Thrive
  • Confidence has grown, personality has emerged, and trust has taken root—this is where their true self shines.
  • Best at 3–6 months post-adoption, with flexibility based on your dog’s comfort and adjustment.

Location Experience

Each session is guided by your dog’s comfort and confidence level:

  • We begin at home or in a familiar, low-stress environment
  • Then transition to a simple outdoor location as your dog becomes more comfortable

This approach keeps the experience calm and pressure-free while naturally reflecting your dog’s growth.

  • Two Signature Sessions (up to 45 minutes each)
  • Full gallery from each session (no image limits)
  • A calm, patient, and guided approach tailored to rescue dogs
  • Location guidance based on your dog’s comfort level
  • A cohesive, storytelling approach focused on transformation
  • Priority scheduling to support ideal timing after adoption


Investment

  • $400
  • In honor of your dog’s journey, $100 from your session is donated back to the rescue or shelter they came from following your final session.


Payment

Sessions may be paid in full or individually. Each session must be paid prior to the scheduled date to hold your session on the calendar. Unpaid sessions will be canceled.


Eligibility

  • This collection is reserved for newly adopted dogs from local shelters or rescue organizations (Lynchburg, Bedford, Amherst, Campbell, and surrounding areas).
  • Proof of adoption (such as paperwork, confirmation from the organization, or even a post from the shelter or rescue) is required at the time of booking.
  • While this collection is designed with dogs in mind, I understand every rescue story is different. If you have a cat you’d love to document, please reach out—I’m happy to talk through what may work best for them.

Add-On: Gotcha Day / Adoption Day Session: $100

Celebrate the day their story became yours.

This optional session is designed to capture your dog’s official adoption or “gotcha day”—whether at the shelter where it all began or at home as they settle into their new life. These moments are often emotional, meaningful, and completely unique to each story. Because every beginning looks a little different, this session is approached with patience and flexibility, always guided by your dog’s comfort.


What’s Included

  • One Connection Session (up to 20 minutes)
  • Full digital gallery of edited images
  • Option to photograph at the shelter or at home


Timing & Planning

  • While about a week’s notice is ideal to allow time for coordinating with the family and planning your session at the rescue or in-home, I understand that timing can be unpredictable.
  • If something comes together quickly, please reach out as soon as possible.   I’ll always do my best to make space when I can!
  • This session will only take place if your dog is comfortable and ready—timing may be adjusted based on their needs and adjustment.
